BP Challenge Cup *New 2019 Format*
New for 2019
The BP Challenge Cup has a new format for the 2019 Summer Series which starts in March, however before the Championship kicks off, we have scheduled a practice round in February for competitors to familiarise themselves with before Round 1 of the Championship.
The BP Challenge Cup has been revised from a single endurance race to a qualifying session and two races. This 3* event is ideal for fit and experienced drivers.
This 3* race uses RT8 karts on the full International Circuit. The event starts with a 10-minute Qualifying session. A drivers qualifying position will dictate their starting position in both races. The drivers result from both races will be scored individually and combined to conclude their final position. A tie on points will then be decided by their fastest lap in both races as a tie break.
The BP Challenge Cup has two classes. The Pro Class is for experienced drivers looking to compete in the 8-round Championship (Starting in March). The Clubman class welcomes one-off entries or those looking to gain experience before moving onto the Pro Class. There are trophies for both classes.
The minimum age to take part is 16 (16 & 17 year-olds must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 plus). Some previous karting/racing experience is required to enter this event. The minimum height to safely operate our karts is 5ft (152cm) and the maximum height is 6’4” (195cm).
The total time at the circuit is approximately 3 hrs from your arrival to departure.
